Which system is right for you?

Daily-driver garage

Polyurea base + polyaspartic topcoat

Flexible base bonds and crack-bridges; UV-stable topcoat locks in flake and stays color-true. Vehicle-ready next day.

$7 – $12 / sqft
Finished basement

Single-coat polyaspartic or standard epoxy

No UV exposure, low traffic. Either gives a clean, easy-to-clean finish – epoxy if budget matters, polyaspartic if speed does.

$3 – $9 / sqft
Covered patio / carport

Polyaspartic finish (never bare polyurea)

Any sun exposure will amber an aromatic polyurea finish. Polyaspartic stays color-stable for years outdoors.

$5 – $10 / sqft
Showpiece garage

Metallic epoxy or full flake broadcast

Decorative pigments or full-flake broadcast for a designer look. Pair with a polyaspartic clear topcoat for hardness.

$7 – $15 / sqft

The two are chemical cousins, not competitors. Premium one-day systems pair a polyurea base coat (flexibility, adhesion) with a polyaspartic topcoat (UV stability, hardness). For a full breakdown see the polyaspartic vs polyurea guide.

Estimator note

Surface preparation is the single largest determinant of coating life. A failed coating is almost always a prep failure – not a product failure. Diamond grinding to a sound CSP-2/3 profile is included in every quote on this sheet.

Frequently asked

How long until I can walk or park on it?

Polyaspartic systems: walk 4 – 8 hours, vehicles next day. Epoxy systems: walk 24 hrs, vehicles 3 – 7 days.

Will it hold up to hot tires?

Properly installed polyurea/polyaspartic systems are hot-tire proof. DIY epoxy kits are the usual culprit when coatings peel under tires.

Do you grind the floor or just acid etch?

Always diamond grind. Acid etching is a DIY shortcut that does not produce a reliable bond profile (CSP-2/3) for resin coatings.

Do I need to move everything out of the garage?

Yes – floor must be fully empty. We offer a flat-rate move/return add-on if helpful.

Can you coat over an existing painted floor?

Only after removal. Old paint, sealers, and failed epoxy must be ground off – see add-on pricing.

What about cracks in the slab?

Hairline cracks chase and fill standard. Active structural cracks should be addressed before any coating; we will flag during inspection.

Is the pricing here a firm quote?

These are typical residential ranges for the current month. Firm pricing requires an on-site measure and slab condition assessment.

What is the warranty?

Manufacturer warranties on resin (5 – lifetime). Labor warranty varies by system – see each system card.
